I know I promised not to constantly put cat pics up here... that's why I made groovymonk.blogspot.com ... but it's my birthday and these pics are too cute...

Monkey and Groovy snuggled for the first time!!!  This is what we wanted!  We wanted kitties who would play and snuggle and wash each other!  I'm so glad we got Groovy!  I think Monkey is happier now too... Groover is such a sweetheart.  We try to keep her out of the bedroom at night because she's playful at night and too cute to get mad at for keeping you up.  I just feel guilty when she wakes you up at 2am with kisses on the cheek or nose and then wants to play... she'll hop all over the bed and purr when you touch her. 

Monkey is even more sociable with groovy around.  Ted says the Monk is like an angry Goth Teenager most of the time.  Kind of "puts up with us", but lately she'll actually come over and sit on a lap... Groovy is a great addition to the family! 



Ted and I are going to see Spamalot at the Civic Center tonight!  Excited!!!  I'll let you know how it is tomorrow!

And, yes, I am 30 today... eeek.  It's weird to think that way, as a 30 year old.  I don't think I've ever felt my age in my life though... I feel older, but at times am amazed that I'm old enough to drive, make dinner, have bills, have to work... When did we grow up?

Literally!

My poor tootsies are frozen!!!  So, we moved into the new place about 2 months ago... and there are still some things I haven't found since we moved... including my shoes that aren't flip flops!!!  I'm pretty sure my gym sneakers are still in my car (in the gym bag I haven't opened since last month...), but I can't find anything else.  I don't have the funds to buy any shoes at the moment, so I've just got cold toes!  At least my pedicure still looks good!



And... tomorrow's my birthday... and it's a big one.  I'm turning 29... again.  I've decided to skip 30.  Too many people make fun of 30, so I don't want to be 30... I'll be 29 again this year, and on October 7th, 2009 I will turn 31!  (I don't really care that much about 30... I'm just sticking with  29 to annoy Marty... don't tell him ok?)

I didn't get to watch Private Practice, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, or Bones last night!!  They're all on my DVR...

I beg you... don't tell me anything!!!  I'm racing home to see what I've missed!!!

First of all, my Dad is coming to our new place for the first time!  So I'm excited for him to see where I live now, to meet Groovy and the Monk (He met Monkey when she was tiny... before Ted did... but she's a full grown Monker now).  Dad's girlfriend, Louise, and my little bro, Sam, are coming too.  So we've got a little cleaning to do today...

And that also means my DVR will be working overtime tonight.  I've got Bones on Fox to DVR, and then the big stuff on ABC to DVR as well (I love my Time Warner DVR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

That stinking writer's strike last year screwed with TV too much.  A lot of new shows got cancelled because of the strike... and I was so worried about the shows on ABC that I fell in love with last year... PUSHING DAISIES... DIRTY SEXY MONEY... PRIVATE PRACTICE.   The new shows didn't even come back after the strike was over!!!!  So it's been almost a year since they were on.  Pushing Daisies is fantastic... it's like a bedtime story... I don't know how else to describe it.  DSM is just plain hot.  And Private Practice isn't as good as Grey's Anatomy... but it has something I really like... a great cast.  I think the show can be excellent.

I am SO SO glad that TV is finally back!!!



Desperate Housewives last night... awesome.  I'm glad (don't read if you dvr'd it) that Mike isn't dead... it looked that way for a while, but he's alive so it means that he and Susan can get back together sometime!  Poor Edie... yes, I mean that.  Her new hubby's a total creep.  I felt bad for Bree too... but she'll be OK... she's my favorite.  Lynette and those damn kids... let me get this right... we're 5 years in the future... were the twins 11 last season?  I don't know how they're 16 now...

Grey's Anatomy.  Love it.  Hate Meredith still.  For crying out loud... she's in her 30's, a doctor... and the biggest moron ever.  Hate her.  Love Izzy.  Love George.  Love Lexi and Alex and I even love Christina.  Just not Mer.  Bernadette Peters was fantastic in that guest spot.  I think the chief is taking things a little too hard... and Haan is a character I've loved from the begining so very glad she's getting a good storyline.

Ugly Betty.  NO MODE?!!?!  I don't like the new mag... I liked her working at Mode... it made her ugliness funnier.  But Amanda and Marc's love of the Betty will keep me going!

Bones... I love this show.  I just read one of the books by Kathy Reichs... Temperance Brennan is her character,... the show's based on her books... and the book rocked.  Pick up "Devil Bones" if you get a chance.  I'm not sure how I like Sweets being a regular, or how Zach can come back at all. 

House... Wilson's gone?  Not thrilled with that one...

Still waiting to see: Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, 24 (JANUARY), LOST (in January too)... I know I'm forgetting something!!!
